Side Sleeper

Our Baby Girl is beginning to sleep on her side. It's proof of how crazy I am - that I can find such a silly thing to be so cute. Cute enough to take a picture and post a blog about it. I'm sure its an obsession, just deal with it. Her new bed time is around 7:00 - and I love it! She sleeps for a good 11-12 hours. She still takes two good naps - a 2-hour morning nap and 1 1/2 hour afternoon nap. She's always been a good sleeper, which makes and keeps me a happy mom!

Tuckered Out

Most Wednesday mornings, Baby Girl and I attend a Play Group at the park. It's a nice park, within walking distance. Today we sat on a blanket under a tree and chatted with some other moms and babes. There are adorable twin boys that are 12 months old that always try to play with Baby Girl. They share toys, Baby Girl tries to pull their hair. I told them today that they need to teach her how to crawl. We also spent time on the swing. Baby Girl likes to swing, but she loves it when I try to tickle her toes as she swings back and forth. The fun day at the park must have tuckered her all out, because she fell asleep on our walk home. I love how she still has a tight grip on her toy, even though she's asleep. What a cutie.

Our Quail Family

As many of you know, last year we had a pair of Quail living in our backyard. Well, those Quail had babies and this year they are all grown up and now just had babies of their own. We get a kick out of watching them herd along their babies, the father in front, followed by the babies, and mom in the back making sure they don't go astray. The babies look like little new-born chickens as, if you know anything about quail, they don't fly too much and act somewhat like chickens -- only the sound they make is much more annoying. Anyway we got a few snapshots of our Quail family so enjoy.

Scandinavian Days

For Memorial Day weekend, we decided to travel to Sanpete County to attend a Scandinavian Festival. Yes, a Scandinavian festival. I know very little about Scandinavia culture, but Morgan's grandmother is Swedish. I'm learning a little more about it. It was a fun festival with several craft and food booths. It was fun to see all the crafts for sell. The food smelled delicious. We had some famous Sanpete Turkey and piccadillies. Don't know what piccadillies are? Me neither, but they taste really good! They had other booths that sold kettle corn, funnel cakes, snow cones, cotton candy, Navajo tacos. They even had a Viking feast. We ate more than our share of unhealthy foods. It was fun!

We stopped and visited Morgan's family too. Baby Girl had fun playing the piano with Grandma Frame! She was really good at playing a duet with Grandma! Baby Girl did pretty good with new people there. It really depends on her mood, or the time of day, or the person. Sometimes she can be very ornery with new people, and other times she can be okay. I'm looking forward to when she's outgrown this separation anxiety phase!

Adorable

I think my baby gets cuter the older she gets. She's definitely keeping me on my toes. She's becoming more and more mobile every day. She can wiggle half way across the room. She scoots backwards while laying on her back. And as she rolls from her tummy to her back and back to tummy, she somehow moves around too. What a silly baby!

8 Months

Today, Baby Girl is 8 months old. She's now been out of the womb as long as she was in the womb. I was 8 months pregnant when I had her. These last 8 months have been a lot more fun then the 8 months prior to her birth! What a beautiful baby we have!

Cheesers

We have such a silly girl. The last several weeks, she's learned this really cheesy grin. She squints her eyes, wrinkles her nose and puckers her lips into a smile. I don't know where she's learned it, but it's adorable. Can you see her hair in these pictures? She was getting a little bit of static electricity built up, so the little hairs on her head was standing straight up. What a cutie!

She's also found and loves her toes. She always grabs for her toes! I can't believe how flexible she is! She always tries to eat her toes when I'm changing her diaper. I have to pry her little slobbery toes out of her mouth, so I can get the diaper around her leg. It's really cute!

New Routines

What a week we've had! Our Baby Girl has grown so much in the last week. She's added a lot of new things to her routine this week. First of all, she's decided to like baby food. Starting with bananas last week, she now eats anything I  feed her! I have no idea what changed her mind, but it doesn't matter what it is, she chows it down. Fruits, veggies, it doesn't matter. She now opens her mouth willingly and eats all that I feed her! I first introduced veggies to her 2 months ago, so every day for 2 months, I've tried to feed her baby food with little success. Until suddenly, she's decided to love it! What a silly girl.

Secondly, she's started cutting out some of her naps. She has always slept a lot for the average baby. She was still taking 4 naps a day, until a few weeks ago, when she cut out one of her naps. So, she took a morning, afternoon and evening nap. The last few days, she's started cutting out her evening nap. But the problem is that she's still been fussy as she's adjusting to being awake for so long. Now, her schedule is like most babies - just a morning and afternoon nap.

And last, but not least, she's discovered that she can scream. This is more voice exploration than anything. She just likes to yell very loudly. We went to WalMart a couple of days ago, and as we walked through out the store, Baby Girl just hollered away. I just whispered a shhhhh, and tried to avoid all the staring eyes from other customers. It's fun to hear her voice though.
