Stranger Danger

Our Baby Girl is continuing to develop and grow! It is so fun to watch her. She now weighs 17 pounds 6 ounces. She is such a happy baby, always laughing and smiling. Another mark in her development is that she now knows when I am not there with her. She now screams and cries whenever someone, other than me or Morgan, holds her. Sometimes, all a person has to do is talk to her and try to get her to smile and she starts screaming. Over the last week, she's seen a lot of family. Baby Girl screamed for all of them. My dad, Morgan's mom, my mom and step-dad, my brothers: all made her scream. She stops crying when I hold her, so I'm pretty sure we have a major Mama's Girl on our hands. I am home with her all day every day, of course she trusts me! We don't get many visitors, so when we do see new people - she's not used to it. So, if anyone wants to come visit so we can get Baby Girl used to company, you are more than welcome to come visit us.

This week, my brother came home from his mission to Chile. This hat was a souvenir for Baby Girl. Doesn't she look adorable in it?

Laughing All The Way

Instead of going to bed last night Baby Girl decided that it was a Friday night and she deserved to stay up and play with Mom and Dad. She had so much fun that she could not contain herself and started laughing -- it was really cute. Jen had the camera handy so enjoy the short video of our Baby Girl laughing.

Exercising

Well, (heaven help us), we are trying to do Family Home Evening on Monday nights. Last night, we decided to exercise. The local University has an indoor track. Of course we had to get dressed for it. Even Baby Girl was sporting a jogging outfit. Her outfit is completely pointless for a baby to have, but absolutely adorable! I love it! So, we loaded Baby Girl in her stroller and went and walked. It's a pretty nice track. We walked a whole mile! Along the track, they have vending machines with candy bars and soda pop. Every time we made the lap, we joked about stopping to get a snack. We went around the track 5 times, so if we stopped for a treat every time we passed it - we would have actually gained more calories than we would have burned. It's a good thing we resisted the temptation and kept walking. Baby Girl seemed to enjoy her stroller ride. It was a nice activity that we could do as a family.

Our Little FRAME Baby

What a wonderful Valentine's weekend. We had a snowy Saturday. It was nice to sit home all day in our warm house and watch the snow storm outside. This is a cute picture of our Baby Girl sitting on our Love Sac looking out the window at all the snow.

Our adorable baby has learned a new game that she happens to find soo funny. She keeps doing it and it would drive me crazy if she wasn't so stinking cute. When she's eating, she latches on for just a second then pulls away, looks at me and laughs. The more I urge her to eat, the more she laughs. Then she latches on again and almost immediately pulls away and laughs. She eventually gets tired of the game, or hungry enough, that she stops playing and finishes eating. Most of the time, it's adorable, but sometimes I just need her to eat! On Saturday, I needed her to finish eating right before we had visitors. On Sunday, she kept doing this during church, when I wanted to hurry and feed her and get back to the meetings. It really is adorable.

I was telling Morgan that our little baby is definitely a Frame Baby. I'm trying to get her to do something that she needs to do. She knows she's going to have to do it eventually, but she's got to give me a hard time about it anyway. Does that sound familiar Lisa?

5 Months Old

Yesterday, Baby Girl turned 5 months old. It is so hard to believe how quickly time passes. She's growing so big! She's now wearing 6-9 month clothing and she has so many cute outfits! So here are her outfits from the last couple of days. She's such an adorable baby!

Growing So Big

Baby Girl is huge now! She is growing so much. We were gifted a very nice scale, so we are able to weigh our Baby Girl. She now weighs 16 lbs 5 oz. That is a whole 1.1 pound heavier than she was 3 weeks ago. I tried measuring how tall she was - but that's a little more difficult. I think she's 25 1/2 inches - which is one full inch taller than 3 weeks ago. She's transitioning from her 3-6 month clothes into her 6-9 month clothes. The 6-9 months are still a little big on her. But she has so many cute outfits. She wore this cute levi skirt to church yesterday. She's such a cutie. A major THANK YOU to those of you who contribute to her wardrobe! We greatly appreciate it!

This is Baby Girl in her bouncy chair that she got for Christmas. She's able to sit in it and play with the toys. She concentrates so hard when she's playing with the toys. It's fun to watch her grow and develop. What a fun age!

My Genius Baby

Unlike Morgan's most recent blog posting, I will document true events that our Baby Girl really has accomplished! In the last few days, she's started doing so many new things. And it's so much fun! She is absolutely adorable!

  1. On Sunday, Baby Girl officially started laughing. For a while now, when she's super happy, she'll let out a "haaaaaa". But this time it was a full on baby giggle and it's the cutest thing ever! Hopefully, someday, we'll catch it on film. I had her on my lap and I was bouncing her - giving her a horsey ride and she LOVED it!
  2. Baby Girl has been grabbing toys for a while now, but they always had to be put directly in front of her. Now, she is starting to reach for things to grab them. I need to watch her a little better now, because she grabs for anything within her reach. Several times, she has reached my face and ripped off my glasses!
  3. Last, but not least, Baby Girl is rolling over! You should have seen Morgan's and my reaction when she rolled over for the first time last night. You would have thought she won the Nobel Prize! We were soo excited and cheering her on! Of course, we grabbed the camera!

With Baby Girl rolling over, I think Tummy Time will be impossible now. She's never really liked being on her tummy, and now she's figured out that she doesn't have to stay on her tummy. She is on her tummy for about 2 seconds before she rolls over and is back on her back. We are very proud, first-time parents!
