Scariest Witch?

This has been a week of Halloween! Baby Girl's costume this year is a witch! She's already worn it 3 times this week, and it's not even Halloween! Tuesday night was our Ward Halloween Carnival. We got to go play games, and color pictures and eat candy. It was fun. Morgan even dressed up too. Well, he HAD to dress up. He was in charge of one of the booths. He wore his fishing vest and fishing hat. Easy.

Then on Wednesday, Baby Girl and I went to our Play Group. It was a Halloween one so everyone could see everyone's costumes. Kids costumes are so cute!

Then today we went to Story Time at the local Library. They were having a Halloween themed Story Time, so everyone was dressed in their Halloween Costumes. They sang Halloween songs, and read a Halloween story, and did a Halloween puppet show! Baby Girl loves Story Time. She doesn't participate, she just stares contently at what's going on. There were so many cute costumes. There was a little girl dressed as Minnie Mouse. Another girl dressed as Dorothy. It was so cute!

Smart Cookie

They say that we should find "joy in our posterity" - and these pictures of Baby Girl do exactly that! Actually, I find more amusement in these pictures. Morgan and I just laugh. It's awful, I know, but it's funny! Baby Girl has found her nose! She can point to it when you ask her 'Where's your nose?". This is adorable. She's also found there are two holes at the end of her nose where it is fun to stick her finger. Yesterday, she was just walking back and forth our living room with her finger up her nose. I try to tell her not to and pull her hand out, but she just giggles and sticks it up further. What a strange child. So, I just grabbed the camera.

She's proving to be a pretty smart baby. (Aside from the fact that she walks around the house with her finger up her nose). Last night, after dinner, I was going to let Baby Girl play for another 20-30 minutes before bed time. She came up to me and said "nap". So, I asked her if she wanted to take a nap? She did a series of grunts which means YES. "Really? Are you sure you want to go to bed? Okay, let's go get you in your pajamas." Then Baby Girl did the sign for 'diaper'. "Yes, we'll change your diaper too." Then she grabbed my hand and lead me into her room so we could get her pjs on. I won't complain if my child WANTS to go to bed! That's fantastic! She's too smart!

October Recap

Where did October go? I've had several people point out the fact that I haven't posted anything new for several weeks. Sorry! We've had a lot going on in our lives. The main excuse that I'll give for not posting is the fact that I'm taking some online classes. Yay! I'm pretty excited about it. Yes, I already have a college degree - why take classes? My teaching license is expiring in the next few months, and I would like to keep it current. I'm taking 3 classes through UEN (Utah Education Network). They are only 6 weeks long, but they require several hours of me sitting at the computer watching tutorials, doing assignments and participating in a discussion room weekly. That's what has been filling my 'free time' (aka Baby Girl's nap time). So, I haven't made time to blog about our adventures.

One of the most exciting things happening in our lives is Baby Girl is walking. My last post was clips of her first steps. She now walks all over the place. She can even stand up on her own, without the help of furniture. She still falls down a lot, and always announces a loud "Uh Oh!" when she does, but she's getting more and more stable on her feet every day. Here's a video I took of her a couple weeks ago. I like her little giggle at the end.

Another exciting thing this month was Morgan's brother got married! Yay! Now Morgan and I are not the only one of our siblings who is married. We got to go to a Bridal Shower and a Rehearsal Dinner and the wedding! Dana and Paige got married on the 17th and they had a BEAUTIFUL ceremony. We are so happy for them! Here are some of the pictures from the wedding. Thanks to Morgan's cousin, Jasey, for the pictures. I stole them from her!

This weekend we went to Morgan's parents for a couple of days. Morgan's aunt and uncle were visiting from Arizona. It was fun to visit them. Morgan went fishing with his uncle and dad. I don't know if it's still called fishing if no one catches anything though! That's all we'll say about that! Baby Girl's favorite part was the stray cat that Morgan's family feeds. Baby Girl would stand at the back door and look out the window and point and say 'doggie'. We tried to get her to say 'kitty', but it was always 'doggie'. She loved that cat, and even got to pet him. What a silly girl.

Last, but not least, its my birthday! This is what Baby Girl gave me for my birthday and I thought I would share:

Isn't that adorable?! Well, we are very much alive and doing well! And I'll try to do better with posting blogs!

Video Update

As if crawling wasn't mobile enough, Baby Girl took her first steps this week! She is on the road to walking. She pulls herself to standing on EVERYTHING. She cruises along our furniture. And she pushes her little walker/stroller that she got for her birthday everywhere. Her balance has improved drastically in the last week. She can stand without holding on for a long time. She loves to take steps in to our arms. She usually takes about two steps, then falls down. But she's gone as many as 4 steps before she tumbles over. She thinks its a fun game and just laughs and smiles as she does it. You can see in the video that she's getting tired towards the end of the video. She already keeps us on our toes as a crawler - but as a walker - LOOK OUT!

Also, this is a cute video of our Baby Mozart. She's playing an original masterpiece for us! She must have made a mistake somewhere in the middle because you can hear her say "uh oh"! What a cutie!
